Understanding Yourself Through Online Counselling and Psychotherapy

Initial Consultation

I offer a free 10-15 minute video consultation with no obligation. This is a chance for us to meet via video call, for you to ask any questions, and for us both to get a sense of whether we might work well together, wherever you are in the UK, Ireland, or Europe.

My Therapeutic Approach

Beneath the Surface

I work psychodynamically, which means I'm interested in understanding what lies beneath the surface of your current struggles. Rather than just focusing on symptoms or behaviours, we explore how your early experiences, particularly your early relationships, have shaped the patterns you find yourself in today.

Past and Present

Psychodynamic therapy is about making the unconscious conscious. We look at the connections between your past and present, helping you understand why you think, feel, and behave the way you do. This isn't about assigning blame or dwelling on the past for its own sake. It's about understanding how early experiences created ways of relating and thinking that may have helped you survive then, but might not be serving you now.

Working Together

For my clients, this means our sessions are exploratory and thoughtful. We take time to understand the full picture of your life, not just the immediate problem. The relationship we build in therapy becomes a space where patterns can be noticed, understood, and gradually shifted. It's collaborative work that respects your pace and your needs.

Online Counselling

I work exclusively online via Google Meet. Working online means no travel, no waiting rooms, and you can have your session from wherever it feels safe, private and comfortable. For many people, being in their own space actually makes it easier to open up and explore difficult feelings.

Online therapy is particularly helpful if you have a chronic illness, are a shift worker, have caring responsibilities, or find it difficult to leave the house. Because I work online, I can offer flexible hours and work with clients across the UK.

Research shows that online therapy is equally as effective as face-to-face work. The therapeutic relationship we build is real and meaningful. What matters most is the connection between us and the work we do together.

Who I Work With

I work with individual adults who are ready to explore what's beneath the surface of their struggles. Many of the people I see are dealing with the impact of difficult family relationships or finding themselves stuck in unhelpful patterns in their intimate relationships.

Stress, Anxiety & Overwhelm

While I work with stress, anxiety and overwhelm, my focus is on understanding what's underneath these feelings rather than just managing the symptoms. Often, anxiety and overwhelm are responses to difficult relationships, unprocessed experiences, or the effort of living in ways that don't fit who you really are. Together, we explore the root causes so you can address what's really going on, rather than just coping with the surface distress.

Family Relationships

Much of my work focuses on complex family dynamics, particularly with clients who grew up with emotionally immature or narcissistic parents. These early relationships shape how we see ourselves, what we believe we deserve, and how we navigate all our relationships as adults.

We explore how these relationships have shaped your sense of self, your boundaries, and your ability to trust yourself and others, whether you're dealing with ongoing difficult dynamics or processing how those early experiences continue to affect you now.

Intimate Relationships

If you find yourself repeating the same patterns in your intimate relationships, struggling with boundaries, choosing unavailable partners, or feeling stuck in unhealthy dynamics, we can explore where these patterns come from and what keeps them in place.

Often, the way we relate to intimate partners is deeply connected to our early attachment experiences. Understanding these connections can help you make different choices and build the kind of relationships you actually want.

We explore how these relationships have shaped your sense of self, your boundaries, and your ability to trust yourself and others, whether you're dealing with ongoing difficult dynamics or processing how those early experiences continue to affect you now.
